Wearing orthotics shouldn’t mean having to wear clunky, heavy shoes that sacrifice style for comfort. Orthotics are designed to both treat injuries and painful symptoms, as well as reduce the risk of future chronic foot pain. They are specially designed by a podiatrist to fit the contours of your feet, reducing sideways movements and distributing bodyweight more evenly to reduce muscle pain.

 

Shoes for orthotics

If you wear custom orthotics, you’ll need shoes that have some extra room or removable footbeds to ensure your orthotics will fit, without causing unnecessary pressure or tightness. Shoes that are especially designed for orthotic inserts usually have extra depth, removable footbeds or even a variety of removable cushions, padding and soles.

  • Orthotic friendly shoes by Naot are made from high quality, soft materials for healthy, comfortable feet all day long.

  • ECCO’s orthotic friendly range have adjustable soles, removable footbeds and extra padding for the ultimate in comfort.

  • Shoes by Revere are designed in consultation with podiatrists and foot experts, with contoured footbeds, strap extensions, shoe fillers and removable soles to fit custom orthotics.

  • Remonte are experts in creating comfortable, supportive shoes for all-day wear, in a range of designs and colours.

Please note that the size chart below should be used as a guide only. Ian’s Shoes for Women tries to provide an accurate size conversion, however due to each brand’s size scale inconsistencies may occur. Some styles have adjustable features, such as adjustable straps, lace-ups or removable / changeable insoles with different fitting systems. This information is detailed on the product pages.

If you would normally take a half size, e.g. 9 1/2 but the style you're looking at doesn't come in halves, we recommend you select a larger size.

Ziera Fittings Explained

W-Fit:           Wide Fit
XW-Fit:         Extra Wide Fit
XF Fit*:         Wide or Extra Wide Fit / Custom Fit - A XF Fit Style comes with a custom insole system which enables different fits by swapping or removing the forefoot inserts which are included with the shoe to customise the fit to each foot enabling a wide fit or extra wide fit.
