Width and Fit Explained

When purchasing footwear, the width is just as important as the length of your foot. To find the right size and the right fit can be very tricky especially when purchasing online. We at Ian’s Shoes for Women would like to make the sizing/fitting selection as easy as possible for you so you have more time to enjoy your new well fitted shoes.

A few tips when looking for your new pair of shoes:

Ensure that the widest part of your foot (around the ball of your feet) fits in the shoe well without you having to squeeze it in. You should always have enough room to wiggle, flex and relax your toes. If the shoe is not wide enough, the shoes will quickly stretch and may become damaged in no time. Let alone the pain you can cause to your feet.

Different brands have different fittings and sizes. We at Ian’s Shoes aim to convert and translate each Brands sizing for you. However due to each brand’s size scale inconsistencies may occur. Our sizing chart should be used as a guide only. But don’t worry, you can always order multiple sizes online and take advantage of our easy Returns Policy or can visit one of our 4 stores in Adelaide.

Wide Fit

Custom Fit
Some brands like FRANKiE4 and Ziera came up with a clever idea and provide a custom insole system which enables different fits by swapping or removing the forefoot inserts which are included with the shoe to customise the fit to each foot enabling a regular, wide or narrow fit.
